A member asked:

Pain in right thigh-calf than left for over week not red if swollen only little feel better raised.had ultrasound on right leg it beg should i go back?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Phlebitis is not the only disorder that can cause thigh and calf pain. Inflammation or strain of the muscles or referred nerve pain from the spine are also possibilities. If you have persistent pain with tenderness of the back of the thigh and calf, and especially if there is swelling of the calf, you should be reevaluated. If ultrasound is negative for phlebitis, consult an orthopedic surgeon.
