Hi, i just came home from the hospital from having a discectomy l4&5 s1 i cannot find a comfortable position. my body looks slanted, like my right side is higher. is this normal? or something i should be worried about

Yes: Yes, this can be " normal". It is usually related either to a unilateral paraspinal muscle spasm, or some peri operative nerve irritation; both of which can cause a obliquity of the pelvis. Should resolve over 24-48 hours.
