High BP + Kidney Dz: Typically, medication lists for a patient with high blood pressure and kidney disease include ace inhibitors, angiotensin receptor blockers (arbs), diuretics (typically thiazide diuretics), and possibly beta blockers or calcium channel blockers (bb and CCB are never given together.) it is very important to talk with your physician about what is the best combination for you.

It depends: In severe kidney damage the ace inhibitors and arbs can cause dangerous rise in potassium levels but in earlier disease when you have mainly protein in the urine they are the best. Drugs for late stages would be calcium and beta blockers and diuretics.
