Impossible to say: Have you had a sleep study? Is it pain that keeps you awake? The question cannot be answered without a detailed history and exam.

Herb: 40's female with chronic pain of SLE has pain in bed & unrefreshing malignant sleep disturbance. Opiates, such as Norco, (hydrocodone and acetaminophen) can become ineffective as tolerance builds over time & opiates can be stimulating/arousing in some. Consult a physician sleep-expert. If not contraindicated, study medicinal cannabis & find a medicinal cannabis consultant. Cannabis indica encourages sleep and ameliorates pain.
