It is a non-opioid: Tramadol is a non-opioid analgesic with opioid-like efficacy. It can be very useful for treating pain. It has a lower risk for addiction. It is about one-tenth the potency of morphine. 100mg of Tramadol equals about 10mg of Morphine. Reference: Drugs.com
