A member asked:

If a breastfeeding mum gets a cold/flu what should she take?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Rest, fluids, Motrin: Sorry to hear you are feeling sick. If your symptoms are caused by a cold virus, there aren't any special medicines needed. Your body will recover on its own, it just can take a week or so, especially if you are tired from caring for an infant! Drinking a lot of fluids, resting as much as possible, and using Ibuprofen for comfort (400mg every 6-8 hours as needed) can help!
