May be related: Patellar tendonitis is often a secondary phenomena due to an underlying issue within the joint such as a cartilage or meniscal tear that causes abnormal gait, a change in how one walks (limp) and this abnormal usage can lead to patellar tendinitis. The tendinitis may not resolve until the underlying problem is also addressed.
