Strengthen Quads: Catchers squat a lot, which puts pressure on joint and knee cap. See a sports medicine doctor, and hopefully they can recommend strengthening exercises for your quadriceps (front thighs). This may include exercise bike, wall slides, leg presses, and swimming. Avoid exercises that put more load on your knees. Patella brace may also be helpful. Ask your coach to switch to first base for a while
