ER or LMD: Bloods must have been drawn for a reason. Not only should the Hgb be corrected but the source of possible bleeding be identified at age 35. When Hgb drops to 10 corrective measures should be taken with Fe or Procrit (epoetin alfa). When in the 8 gm. range transfusions should be considered. LMD should proceed with work up. If Hgb much lower than one goes to ER for transfusion.
