Not directly: This process is localized to the tissues of your lip/mouth margin and does not enter your blood where it would have access to baby. If you have genital herpes and have a flare up around the time of delivery there can be some risk with that process. Discuss these issues with your doc. I encourage moms with a cold sore not to kiss their babies.
