A blood thinner: Integrelin is a drug that blocks a receptor on the surface of platelets that would normally allow it to attach to other platelets when forming a blood clot. In doing so, it prevents blood from clotting. It is often used to prevent blood clots from forming on a stent when it is first placed in an artery, or to treat unstable angina by preventing a blood clot from forming in an artery.
