Ladybirds: Usually Ladybird beetles are completely harmless to people. One specific type – the Harlequin Ladybird Beetle (Harmonia axyridis) can bite humans. Although this normally just causes irritation, it may cause an allergic reaction in some. When introduced, it threatens native species of ladybirds. I found no references to transmission of disease to humans.
