A member asked:

Could an internal defibrillator increase the ejection fraction of the heart?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

ICD: An ICD which works only in the right ventricle doesn't do anything positive for EF. A biventricular pacing defibrillator's biV pacing component can cause small increases in EF when pacing as a BiV pacer in a patient whose native QRS duration is over 0.12 sec.
