Have it evaluated: Make sure that is indeed what it is as it could be some other skin condition.

A 32-year-old female asked:

How can I treat a ringworm I got from my child? Over the counter or should I also visit a doctor?

Depends: If it is true ringworm on regular skin there are usually simple OTC anti-fungal creams/lotions that can help. Scalp ringworm requires an exam & prescribed meds.
A member asked:

What happens if you treat a rash as a ringworm? Because i'm not sure which one it is and can't afford a doctor

Try hydrocortisone: Try Hydrocortisone 1% cream that is over the counter. This usually treats inflammatory rash that is not infectious. If you have itching try adding Diphenhydramine or loratadine.
