Nature vs nurture: A child's growth and development begins at birth. Nature dictates stages and changes in development in physical, social, behavioral, and emotional areas. Gross motor skills precede fine motor skills (e.g.crawling before walking), isolated play precedes co active and cooperative play, babbling precedes word formation, and self-focus precedes recognition of others opinions all leading to adulthood.
