How effective is the docetaxel-gemcitabine chemotherapy regimen for treating lung cancer?

Chemotherapy: Both docetaxel and gemcitabine are effective treatment for non small cell lung cancer (metastatic disease) as first line and subsequent lines of therapy. As a front line therapy, docetaxel or gemcitabine is often combined with another chemo agent known as platinum. However, we do not combine docetaxel and gemcitabine together for the treatment of lung cancer.
