Pathogens: Wash hands often with warm water & soap for at least 20 seconds. Avoid touching eyes, nose or mouth unless hands have just been washed. Use a face covering or mask when in public. Practice social distancing – stay at least 6 feet from others (outside of family you live with). Stay away from crowds. Stay home as much as possible.

Agree with Dr. F: It depends in part on the type of pathogen you have. For respiratory pathogens, keep social distance, wear a mask, get treatment early, better yet get vaccinated if a vaccine is available for the pathogen. Some pathogens, like C difficile are transmitted through personal contact. Others are transmitted through exchange of body fluids. Wish you good health!.
