A member asked:

How long does it take to recover from a hemigastrectomy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends : If there are no complications, the hospital stay should be 3-6 days, and you would typically be back to mostly normal activity by 6-12 weeks. May need to eat smaller portions, and lower carbohydrates until the body adapts to avoid something called "dumping syndrome". Easy fatigue can last for months. Of course, everyone responds differently. Hope this helps!
