A member asked:

What would cause a feeling of heat in a small area at the top of my hip?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation soft: Uncertain where this "top" location is. In the body a hot area can mean inflammation. This could mean infection, it could be a swollen bursa or tendon, or a skin abcess. The outside of the pelvis lateral to the hip is usually bursitis. Hip pain is classically felt in the groin, but you usually can not feel the hip from there or any other external site.
