Timolol is used: Timolol has been used for years for glaucoma. There are, however, a number of new medications that have shown good results. Timolol has side effects of getting into the circulation, decreasing blood pressure & causing fatigue. Some of the new preparations include timolol. This needs to be discussed with Eye doctor who is more familiar with the newer medications.

Variable: Timolol is a beta blocker and has been used for decades for treating glaucoma. It is generally very effective, but has potential side effects. Every eye responds differently to the available glaucoma treatments. This is why the eye pressure is checked 4-6 weeks after starting any new glaucoma drop for effectiveness.
