A member asked:

I just checked my throat in the mirror and i saw a reddish lump (no pain) on the back of my throat (pharynx). i't soft to the touch. what can it be?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Lymph gland: The most common lump in the pharynx (back of throat) is hyperplastic lymph tissue. It could be a cyst as well. If you are a non-smoker, I would not worry about this. On the other hand, if you are a smoker (pack a day), consult and ENT doctor for further diagnosis.
