Started my period 17 days ago, still no sign of stopping. what would cause this? what can i do, if anything, to help it?

See doctor tomorrow: It's hard-to-impossible to give a good answer without knowing a fair bit more - or at least something - about you, but suffice to say that 17 days is abnormal and you should see a doctor promptly. You will need an exam and some tests, get help soon you will not fix this spending more time online. Good wishes.

Get this evaluated: Prolonged bleeding like you describe is abnormal. Healthy patients tolerate this, but in patients that are anemic even one episode of prolonged heavy bleeding can lead to the need for transfusion. The causes are many- mostly benign. Be safe! Get this checked out.
