A member asked:

Is neurontin (gabapentin) useful for joint pain or just nerve pain? is it safe to take if you have crest syndrome?

See details: It can occasionally help back pain but is most effective for fibromyalgia. It can be taken if you have CREST but likely will not help hand pain associated with that diagnosis.

CREST & Neurontin (gabapentin): Hello. Neurontin (gabapentin) is useful for joint and nerve pain. It boils down to the type of pain you have. Stabbing, burning, pins & needles, tingling, electric, numbness, etc. type symptoms usually respond to Neurontin (gabapentin). It's safe to take with CREST Syndrome. Rare for Neurontin (gabapentin) to exacerbate CREST symptoms.
