Tonsillitis: She may have tonsillitis or pharyngitis, inflammation of the back of the throat. White spots can be caused by many different things, including bacteria like Strep, and viruses like that causing hand, foot and mouth (coxsackie virus). A throat culture and exam by her doctor should help determine the cause.
