Silver nitrate: this is good for burns, need RX, if not allow to dry with a bit of triple antibiotic, do not de-roof

Vaseline: Do not use silver nitrate, silver sulfadiazine, Silvadene, triple antibiotic, neosporin, bacitracin, peroxide. Water is good for it. Lubricate with vaseline or Aquaphor. If it is large, see a DR. Bioclusive and similar membranes are excellent. Avoid any dry dressing which can get glued to the wound.

I must disagree with not the use of silvadene creams.

The loose skin : Should be trimmed away, the blister cleaned, then dressed with an antibiotic ointment and then covered with a band aid. It will take a few days, but the soreness will gradually decrease as the skin under the blister dries out and toughens up.

Exercise : Adding exercise and self control by reducing portion intake and eating the right foods while counting calories is best. Increase fruit and fiber intake if not eating enough. Take a yoga course or start swimming if not already. Good, low impact exercises. If considering surgical options, know that the best procedures and surgtons usually require that one starts losing weight first.

MRSA: M-R-S-A: It means methycillin-resistant staph aureus, and the best med will be known for sure after the wound culture, grown from the q-tip they swabbed thru the open wound before they bandaged the foot ulcer; till then, they will treat you with the antibiotics that typically are the best choice for your part of the world, and then add them or change them if needed.
