My son who is 11 has diarrhea for 2 days (with fever) and has stomach cramps - should he see dr or will it run itself out & are cramps normal?

Diarrhea and fever: This is likely an infection caused by contact or food. If there is blood in the diarrhea or if you are unable to keep up with his fluids or if the pain localizes to one area like the right lower side, he needs to be seen. If he is not better in 4-5 days, also have him reviewed. In the meantime give plenty of fluids and use Tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain. Wash your hands carefully so it won't spread.
