Petechiae: When fragile capillaries in the eyes and face rupture, small hemorrhages are created. Petechiae (tiny red flat dots) due to vomiting or coughing typically heal up on on their own without intervention and pose no long term consequences when isolated to the face. As with most rashes, it's always best to have them evaluated by your pediatrician.
