Insomnia: Xanax (alprazolam) does help anxiety but not necessarily sleep, so does Ativan. Might want to consider Melatonin.

No: Mixing your benzodiazapines is not safe. You need to talk to your doctor about this - rather than getting your medical directives from on-line doctors who don't know you.
