No, not a good idea: Actually the opposite is true. Although you may feel and look thinner while wearing a tummy belt, wearing the belt regularly will weaken the underlying muscles, resulting in lose of muscle tone. On physical examination, older women who wore girdles for years stomachs protrude due to weakness of abdominal muscles. It is far better to strengthen the muscles through exercise.
