Is 6.6 blood sugar a diabetic ?

Diabetes diagnosis: The Hemoglobin A1C test (HbA1c) is a measurement that captures your average glucose over the past 3 months. There is no official "set point" for diagnosis of diabetes using HbA1c as it is usually used by the doctor together with other tests, however generally those with HbA1c of 6.5% or higher are at a higher risk of diabetes-related complications such as diabetic retinopathy.

6.6=119: In the United States, we use mg per deciliter instead of the System Internationale mmole per liter. Your sugar of 119 is abnormally elevated - glucose intolerant. Whether you actually have diabetes depends on your 2 hour post-prandial blood sugar. The distinction is somewhat semantic. You need to be on a diabetic diet regardless. If you're overweight, you need to try to lose weight. Hang in there
