Lexapro/Elavil: The mixture at this low dose should be safe. I recommend taking Lexapro (escitalopram) in morning & Elavil at nite, unless your doctor specified otherwise.

Amitriptyline : Amitriptyline is one very old antidepressant, which is used mainly by neurologists and pain management specialists as a sleeping aid, when insomnia is associated with pain. It can produce dry mouth, urinary retention and cardiac arrhythmia. Always consult with your doctor when combining with SSRI (Lexapro, Celexa, Prozac, Zoloft, (sertraline) Paxil) because side effects may increase when taking them together.
