Nothing...: Watch it. See if you are taking hepatotoxic substance. Viral, bacterial infection, alcohol, certain medications can cause altered liver function. Your number is worth watching only.

Elevated liver enzym: No drinking alcohol, taking Motrin or Tylenol (acetaminophen) or any unnecessary medications right now. Please see your physician for a physical exam and testing to rule out hepatitis, fatty liver, hemochromatosis, among other possible illnesses. If you started a new medication, call your doctor and consider holding it for now.

Sounds like: .. you're interested in a personal medical consultation to consider the implication of abnormal lab results. Consider the HealthTap Prime or Concierge features of this website. Elevated SGPT indicates that there is some cell damage in the liver with enzyme loss into the bloodstream. As there are multiple potential causes, a discussion in the context of your medical history is needed. Good luck

Very mild elevation: This warrants monitoring in the future. There isn't a rush unless you are having abdominal pain, orange urine, lightening of the color of your stool, yellowing of your skin or generalized itching without a rash/clear cause. So many things can cause an elevation this mild, repeating the testing first, after avoiding alcohol, supplements, unnecessary medications for several days, is reasonable.
