You can use it : More long term but you want to make sure there is a good plan of action about how long is OK. PPIs like nexium (esomeprazole) aren't totally benign. They can cause decreased iron, B12, and magnesium absorption. Long term use can affect bone density and predispose you to infections like pneumonia and enteric (GI) infections too.
