Here are some ...: The finding of pelvicocaliectasis may be inborn - insignificant or UTI-related in childhood or residual effect after prior events of ureteral blockage or refluxing ureter; but either one will not affect what and how you will be treated now for common lower UTI - cystitis. Good question: I assume you mean "cystitis" and pelvocaliectasis otherwise known as hydronephrosis. Typically cystitis itself would not, however if cystitis causes urinary obstruction by for example predisposing one to kidney stones, or causes urethral irritation and thickening, I suppose it could be possible. This would need to occur chronically. I hope that helps.
