Any trauma? Pain?: There are many reasons why you may have bruising around your belly button. Trauma to the area would be high on my list, but you'd know about that. You may collect blood (leading to a bruise) around your belly button with bleeding into the retro peritoneum (a space that wraps around your abdominal cavity). If it worsens, or if you have pain, call or go see your doctor.
