Gardnerella: Semen is a growth medium for gardnerella bacteria which have a distinctive fishy smell due to a chemical they produce when they stand. Don't worry about it. Gardnerella itself can cause vaginitis but it is not a sexually tansmitted disease. The bugs are common on the normal body in the genital area.
