Vaginal odor: A fishy vaginal odor or discharge usually means an overgrowth of gardnerella vaginalis. The condition is called BV or bacterial vaginosis. Not an std, but due to an overgrowth of this organism often due to the vaginal ph being higher than normal. If confirmed treat with vaginal antibiotics like metranidazole or clindamicin. Also can be given orally. Tends to recurr often.

You probably have BV: Which is bacterial vaginosis but you need to see your gyn or a gyn as a culture can be done to make sure you do not have any stds and BV or other causes because sometimes you could have 2, 3 or 4 or more different bacteria or viruses, bacterial vaginosis is not an std but it needs treatment with antibiotics either pills or cream and I have had pts who had BV and std at the same time.
