Not normal: Cancer cells have several differences from normal cells. Here are a few major ones. For example, normal cells die at the appropriate time (we call that apoptosis) whereas cancer cells continue to live. Cancer cells often grow at a rapid rate compared to normal cells. Normal cells are stopped by their neighbors while cancer cells do not have this contact inhibition.
