Go to ER: Hormonal fluctuations can cause abnormal bleeding patterns. But a "delayed" period and abnormal bleeding coupled with PELVIC PAIN may be a sign of either an Ectopic(Tubal) pregnancy or a miscarriage. If you have been having sexual intercourse within the preceding 6 weeks you should go to the ER now for an evaluation. Ectopic pregnancies can cause severe internal bleeding.
