Depends: It depends on the cause of dermatitis. If it is infectious, you would need antibiotics. If it is allergic, steroid cream would be useful. Note that steroid treatment would make infectious dermatitis worse. If simple Vaseline does not help,it would be prudent to talk to your doctor.
