A member asked:

If you get your period 3 weeks after having unprotected sex, does that mean that you are not pregnant?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably not but: Be safe; check your pregnancy test if you need to be sure. If you do not wish to become pregnant, consult a knowledgeable gynecologist about having an IUD or a subdermal implant which are the most effective reversible contraceptives available...and do not forget to offer condoms to be even safer. Consider discussing your personal reproductive health plan, folic acid etc with a caring clinician.
