Regulating hormones: It's not uncommon for a girl's menstrual cycle to be very irregular the first 2-3 years after hitting puberty. As you get older the cycles should become much more predictable and more frequent. If not then it is recommended you follow-up with either your primary care doc/pediatrician or a gynecologist for evaluation.
