Hot flashes: At your age, the most likely cause of this is hot flashes secondary to menopause. Menopause is when women no longer menstruate or produce female hormones, which can lead to hot flashes and other signs (mood wings, irritability, trouble sleeping, loss of libido, vaginal dryness)
