Breakthrough bleed: Many kinds of breakthrough bleeding can occur. Spotting right before a period is usually progesterone breakthrough; mid-cycle spotting is often estrogen breakthrough. If it continues to worry you there is no harm in making an appointment with your doctor. Good wishes.
