Follow up: I would certainly make sure you follow up with an orthopedic surgeon soon, especially if you " may have a small fracture." In the meantime, rest, ice, compression, and elevation is important to reduce swelling.

Immobilize: A small fracture is a fracture none the less. It should be confirmed with additional imaging studies. The ligament attachment to the ankle bone could be disrupted. It should be treated as a fracture to ensure the best result. See your PCP if they handle that type of injury. If not see an orthopedic surgeon.
