Likely: Genital herpes can and often does infect the oral region in the form of classic cold sores. If you want to decrease chances of transmission, do not give cunnilingus when there are visible lesions, and/or engage in oral sex while taking the antiviral valtrex (valacyclovir). There is no sure way to avoid transmission except for total abstinence.
