You can not do anyth: You can not do anything to make sure you do not pass depression to yourchild, so try to beat your depression and don't worry about passing on to your child.

Depression: There's no way to control your own genetics, that simply cannot be done. However, you can certainly be open and honest about what depression means to you to your child or children. Reassure them that your depression is not their fault, and that is not their job to cure you. Categorically, humanize depression by speaking of it honestly, and take the mystery out of it.

Talk to them: You cannot control the genes you pass to your children but you can adjust child rearing to make then away of the circumstance they may face. It would be a good idea to have a therapist involved at an early stage. Wish you and your child good health!
