A member asked:

What consequences result from vaginal secretion on pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Little unless infect: There is a cervical plug that presents a barrier to protect the fetus and amniotic sac from an ascending infection, but it is not foolproof and sometimes vaginal infections do ascend and infect the placenta and sometimes the baby. See your OB doctor if there is any chance of a vaginal infection-acute or chronic.
