A member asked:

My heart rate is usually 80-90 beats a minute but today it's been as low as 58. i have a very sedentary lifestyle. what could this change mean?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Probably normal : normal range of heart rate is 60-100 for an adult. Can be lower or higher depending on 2 many factors to list. HR at 58 is not necessarily bad. Can be lower than 60 when sedentary, after eating, alcohol among other things. Worrisome HR's usually are lower than 40 for non-athletes. Well conditioned athletes can have HR in 40's at rest. Symptoms that r an issue w/ low HR incl dizziness, fainting
