i recently got a mole removed from my back and it left an open wound and i was instructed to use vaseline on it.can i melt vaseline and apply it also?

Vaseline: You shouldn't have to melt it. As it warms to body temp it softens. The easiest thing to do may be to put some Vaseline on a band-aid and apply it over the wound. That way the Vaseline will be less likely to get on your clothes or anything else. You can also use triple antibiotic ointment or something similar.
